Our writing tutors work with students in middle and high school who need targeted help with academic writing projects, including in-school assignments and essay contest submissions.
We help our students succeed at every stage of the writing process, working with them to review rubrics, outline essays, conduct secondary research, master citations, and produce clear, polished prose. Although we specialize in the types of writing most often required at the secondary level—essays, book reports, research papers, and reader responses—we’re happy to work with students on other types of writing projects as well.
Our Writing Tutoring packages include a 15-minute introductory call; 5, 10, or 15 hours of one-on-one guided writing instruction; and personalized essay feedback from your tutor. This program—conducted via phone, email, and video chat—is intensive, and it is designed to target specific school assignments.
Our Writing Tutoring program includes:
Personalized Writing Analysis: Our tutors will review the requirements of your writing project(s), as well as samples of your past work, and develop with you a game plan for addressing your current assignments.
One-on-One Guided Writing Instruction: You’ll work with one of our tutors by phone, Skype, and email to tackle your writing project(s) quickly and effectively. Along the way, you’ll learn approaches and techniques to better your overall writing style. If you want supplementary coaching, we’ll create customized strategies and exercises specifically for you, and we’ll go over them with you on a one-on-one basis.
24-Hour Turnaround: Our counselors are accustomed to tutoring over the phone and reviewing drafts by email. They can work with students from anywhere in the world, at any time, and will always send you edits and revisions within 24 hours.
You will be contacted within 24 hours of purchase to schedule your first tutoring session. If you have any questions regarding this service, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Just wanted to pass along that B got into Stanford, Harvard, CalTech and University of Washington (her safety school). Only school she didn’t get in to (that she applied to) was MIT. So, yesterday she happily accepted into Stanford. We couldn’t be happier, as both our girls are now attending Stanford. And, both got there with Top Tier’s help. We don’t have any more kids to usher through your program but we’ll be sure and recommend you to anyone we come across! – Parent of Essay Guidance Program student

I wanted to let you know that my journey through the college application process has officially come to an end. I was accepted to Duke in the ED round! I can't thank you enough for all your guidance and support in the process. It has truly been a privilege working with you. The feedback you gave me was so generous and helped me to elevate my essays beyond what I thought was possible. Ironically, in the end, all I needed was my personal statement and my 150-word 'why' for Duke, but I'm so glad I was prepared for the regular decision round. Thank you again for everything! – S.Y., Essay Guidance Program student
