SAT Horror Stories

We have heard many SAT horror stories over the years from our students.

Hurricanes in the middle of tests and proctors insisting no one move, a bloody nose that soaked the score sheet and a student too shy to speak up, not enough booklets ordered and students left waiting over an hour to take the test, cheating happening next to a student and when she reported it she was implicated.  This new problem of a “printing error” on last Saturday’s test is yet another glitch in the rocky road of college admissions test-taking.

We work with our students to craft a testing plan that allows wiggle room for all kinds of errors…and time issues.  Things happen.  But, the prepared student knows there’s another test date before applications are due and he/she has time to recover.  We had a student from a war torn country who literally hid in the bushes from violent rebels on the morning she took the SAT.

Moral of the story… have a broad vision and plan your testing early on in 9th grade so you know which test you are taking when. Also, bear in mind the new 2016 SAT overhaul and complete your SAT exams before March 2016, if possible. Planning your testing schedule early is key for SAT, ACT, and Subject Tests.
